Meet Janet B: The Artisan Behind Your Favorite Afriprint Heirlooms

Meet Janet B: The Artisan Behind Your Favorite Afriprint Heirlooms

Meet Janet B: The Artisan Behind Your Favorite Afriprint

At Afriprint, we don’t just sell bags, fans, and headwraps — we carry stories. And one of the most powerful stories we get to share is that of Janet B., a gifted artisan in Teshie, Ghana, whose hands craft many of the pieces you love.

In a world of fast fashion and factory-made goods, Janet is the heartbeat of our brand. Her skill, story, and spirit are woven into every stitch.

Today, we want you to meet the woman behind the magic.

🇬🇭 Who is Janet B.?

Janet is a single mother raising her daughter with grace, grit, and a deep commitment to her craft. She lives and works in Teshie, a coastal town in Accra, Ghana, where she creates beautiful Afriprint accessories by hand from her small home studio.

She isn’t just making bags — she’s building a future. Every purchase you make helps support her daughter's school fees, daily living expenses, and her dream of one day expanding her studio to teach other women in her community.

👜 What Does She Make?

Janet is the artisan behind some of our most beloved items, including:

  • The Janet Tote – named in her honor, this bag is as reliable and radiant as she is.

  • Our signature African fans – bold, colorful, and made for queens who like to stay cool and stylish.

  • Custom headwraps and accessories – all crafted from authentic African wax prints.

Each piece she touches is one-of-a-kind, made in small batches, and finished with love.

✨ Why We Partner With Her

Big factories may be faster, but they’re not personal. At Afriprint, we believe in:

  • Ethical production

  • Sustainable business practices

  • Empowering women through meaningful work

Janet isn’t a number on a payroll — she’s a partner, a sister, and a reflection of everything we stand for.

When you carry one of her bags or fan yourself with one of her creations, you’re not just buying a product. You’re investing in her future — and in the future of African craftsmanship.

💬 In Her Words:

"I want people to feel proud when they carry what I make. It’s not just a bag — it’s my story, my hands, my hope."
— Janet B.

🌍 Carry Her Story. Wear It With Pride.

At Afriprint, we name our pieces after the women who shaped us. Janet earned her name not just for her talent, but for her resilience, integrity, and joy.

The Janet Tote is more than a bag — it's a reminder that real people make real fashion.

So the next time someone asks, “Where did you get that bag?”
You can say, “It was handmade by Janet in Ghana — and she’s a Queen.”

💬 Comment Below:

What would you want to say to Janet if she could hear you?
